Hotel Ikon Phuket - Sha Extra Plus, Karon

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms were among the cleanest we have ever experienced in Thailand, modern, clean, stylish, with plenty of storage, and offering great views. The service was top-notch, with receptionists who were incredibly attentive and kind. The location, though slightly out of town, was no issue at all for me, and I particularly loved the swimming pool and the fantastic food options within a short walk. The dining experience was excellent with a wide variety of fresh choices. Overall, a wonderful stay with minor drawbacks.

The hotel rooms were gorgeous, exactly like the photos with modern design and very roomy, although showing a little wear and tear in places. I had a sea view and a 'free mini bar,' but my advice for guests would be not to pay extra for this facility. The service was really helpful, with staff always smiling and super friendly and courteous, always ready to serve drinks by the pool. The location was not bad, a 20-minute walk from the main Karon town strip but plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel is nestled within a charming rainforest with a hillock backdrop and dense greenery around, although the view was not very nice. The dining options were okay with a good selection available, and the facilities were in good condition.

Upon arrival, our room in another building had a strong smell of mold, leading us to request a change immediately. The new room, however, was spacious, well-appointed, super-modern, and incredibly clean, boasting a massive bed and a fridge stocked with refreshing beverages. The service was friendly and genuinely nice, though some areas could benefit from improved professionalism and English proficiency for basic communication. The location, although a bit out of town, offered a charming setting nestled within a rainforest with a hilltop view of Karon Beach; however, reaching the beach required a substantial walking effort. The dining experience was pleasant, with a great selection of fruits, warm dishes, bread, salads, and spreads available. The facilities were generally nice.
